Featured Event: H-E-B Science Center at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History

Saturday, March 5, 2016

This evening I got to get a sneak peek at the new Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History H-E-B Science Center!  One of the biggest complaints from families in our area is that there isn't a dedicated children's museum like in other cities.  Our museum has always been familiar and comforting but really traditional. We've been lucky enough to visit museums all over the country and just recently visited the Exploratorium in San Francisco which is an amazing hands on science museum.  Although the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History did have a small play area for little kids that was always a favorite for playdates with my little one when she was a toddler, it really wasn't as much fun for the older kids.

However, with the new $3 million H-E-B Science Center, the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History has changed the game and brought big city educational fun to Corpus Christi. After today's sneak peek at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History Science Center, we can say we have some of that hands on learning that kids (and adults) love in our own city!  You will easily be able to spend all day here and will have a hard time tearing your kids away.  There's also the awesome playground outside that was built recently in 2014 and the brand new super cool Music Garden.

The Science Center features highly interactive, larger than life exhibits designed to inspire and educate all ages. Visitors will enjoy the musical piano staircase, explore mixing virtual chemistry, a giant talking cell, a 3-story double helix climber, DNA, hands-on engineering, math, physics, space and gravity, paleontology and a planetarium.

Phase 1 Opening is Saturday, March 5.
Grand Opening with the unveiling the one of a kind 3-story DNA climber, engineering and other final additions to the Science Center is Saturday, April 2.
