There are always fun things to do on weekends but sometimes you want to do something with your kids during the week. I've picked out a few ideas of fun things to do and the best part is most of them are FREE!

Disney's Beauty and the Beast at 7:30 pm
The smash hit Broadway musical, is coming to Corpus Christi! Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, this eye-popping spectacle has won the hearts of over 35 million people worldwide. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes, and dazzling production numbers including “Be Our Guest” and the beloved title song. Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walk from 8 to 9 am
Get in touch with nature while the weather is still nice.  Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather.  Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult.  Meet at the front porch of the Learning Center. For more information contact Manuel Cantu at 361-826-3947 or

Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History Mommy and Me: Cells at 10 am
What is the tiniest part of you? A cell! Explore our giant cell in the new Science Center and learn all about how cells and our bodies work. Don't miss this great opportunity for you and your little one to learn and explore. Ages 0 - 5

La Palmera Tide Turner's Kids Club from 10 am to 12 pm
Mother's Day theme this month.  Monthly Tide Turners events held the first Tuesday of every month at the Undersea Children's Play Area located on the upper level. Story time, arts and crafts and more! Designated for kids ages 5 and under!

Ben F. McDonald Public Library Superhero Game Day at 4 pm
Board games, puzzles and X-Box Kinect! (ages 3+)

Robert Wollman Planetarium at King High School at 5:30 pm and 7 pm
Tickets go on sale 30 minutes prior to each show time. There is no late seating. Reservations are not required for the Tuesday evening shows. Tips: The planetarium does get cold at times. For evening shows, it might be a good idea to bring a jacket or sweater.
Cost: Admission (cash or check) Adults $4 Seniors (age 55+): $3, Children (age 4-15) $3, Children under 4 free

Hands-on activities that demonstrate science, technology, engineering and math.

A kids art project every Wednesday.  FREE for the whole family to enjoy. All ages are welcome (children accompanied by parent/guardian), drop-in art activity, no registration, wear your painting garb!
