Art Museum of South Texas Free First Friday from 10 am - 5 pm
The first Friday of every month is free public admission to the Art Museum of South Texas. The Gift Shop and Hester's Cafe also are open to the public. Sponsored by: AEP TEXAS (FYI not open for Marina Arts District Artwalk this time).

Marina Arts District Downtown Artwalk from 5:30 to 10 pm
On the first Friday of every month you’ll find artists, musicians and all things creative converge in the Marina Arts District. It's where Downtown comes alive with bands on every block, food trucks serving up South Texas fare, and art galleries featuring local and national artists. Take in the free live music and local flavors outside, find a nice watering hole to duck into for a quick drink, or grab a bite to eat.

8th Annual Flip Flop Festival gates open at 6 pm 
The Flip Flop Festival is an exciting, family-friendly event that visitors and locals like look forward to each year. The waterfront location and festival experience gives attendees a taste of what you can expect when you visit Port Lavaca - a welcoming atmosphere, friendly conversation, a great view of the water, cold drinks great food, shopping, and of course, flip-flops!
Cost: Admission Friday night $10. VIP Tickets: $50 for Friday, $100 Saturday or both nights

Drop Off Night at PLAY Corpus Christi from 7 to 10 pm
Take a break while the kids have a blast! Supervised playtime for ages 3-12 years (must be potty trained). Play's experienced staff lead your child through games and activites in our secure facility, while you enjoy a few hours alone. Grab a bite, catch a movie, and relax. Your kids are in great hands! Goose Island State Park Fishing with a Ranger from 8:30 to 9:30 am
Join a park ranger for a few fishing basics. Bring your own bait! Want to try fishing, but are not sure where to start?  Come to Fishing with a ranger!  Learn a few fishing basics, like baiting a hook, casting a line, and if you are lucky reeling in a fish! The park will provide a limited number of fishing poles for use during the program, poles can also be checked out from Park Headquarters first-come, first-serve. Bring bait, water, sunscreen, fishing pole, and dress in weather appropriate clothing.  Shrimp is a popular choice and can be found at most local bait stands. Cost: There is no fee for attending this program although park entrance  is required.  Entrance fees are $5 per person over the age of 13, children 12 and under are free, or free with a current Texas State Park Pass.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks! from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. The parking lot is now open. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. The Home Depot Kids Workshop Back to School Whiteboard from 9 am to 12 pm
Hands-on workshop for parents and kids to work on a mini whiteboard with a pen tray they can use for school work or play time. Once the whiteboard is built, kids can paint it in their favorite color. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin. Register online so the store will know how many to expect.

Michaels Stores Sprout Saturday Kids Club Fall Paper Lantern from 10 am to 12
Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. Each session is 30 minutes. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Goose Island State Park Fishing Fish Prints! from 10:00 to 11:00 am
Try your hand at Gyotaku- the Japanese art of fish printing. Traditionally fish printing was an art form that could also be used to document an impressive catch. Helpful things to bring:  A journal, pen or pencil, and your desired media.  The park will provide tempra paint, paper, and replica fish for use in the program.  Wear old clothes that you don't mind getting paint on! Marina Arts District September BridgeWalk from 8:30 am - 10:30 am 
Registration starts at 7:15 am and Walk begins at 8:30 pm,  BridgeWalk is a monthly opportunity to get some exercise with a one of a kind view. The bridge route takes you up and over the beautiful Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge. The Alternate route for those with strollers, small children, and animals can take the scenic route down along the water to the Marina T Heads and back. Both routes are measured to be 6020 yards (3.42 miles).
