Build a goal kicker that can kick a paper ball! Designed for 3rd-6th grades. Younger kids will need adult assistance.

Garcia Arts and Education Center Family Night Out from 6–8 pm
Families - enjoy time together, share a meal, and learn about each another through different fun events! Programming is held every other Friday night. Curriculum is delivered by TAMUCC graduate students. Family Night Out includes a variety of educational groups as well as entertaining and therapeutic activities. Groups and activities include: art, games and action exercises, stress management, psycho-education, and community education. The groups and activities focus on decreasing family conflict, increasing family cohesion, and promoting healthy family management. Emphasis is placed on healthy beliefs, family bonding, emotional awareness and expression, and communication skill building.

Based on the 1970's cartoon, this faced-paced musical teaches lessons with clever, catchy tunes.

Saturday, September 17

Goose Island State Park Fishing with a Ranger from 8:30 to 9:30 am
Join a park ranger for a few fishing basics. Bring your own bait! Want to try fishing, but are not sure where to start?  Come to Fishing with a ranger!  Learn a few fishing basics, like baiting a hook, casting a line, and if you are lucky reeling in a fish! The park will provide a limited number of fishing poles for use during the program, poles can also be checked out from Park Headquarters first-come, first-serve. Bring bait, water, sunscreen, fishing pole, and dress in weather appropriate clothing.  Shrimp is a popular choice and can be found at most local bait stands. Events may be canceled pending weather, or if no participants are present. For information contact Ranger Janelle Rand at 361-729-2858 or email.
Cost: There is no fee for attending this program although park entrance  is required.  Entrance fees are $5 per person over the age of 13, children 12 and under are free, or free with a current Texas State Park Pass.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks! from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. The parking lot is now open. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. Lake Corpus Christi State Park Guided Nature Walk from 10 to 11 am
Meet at the Catfish Point Trailhead for a guided 1 mile walk around the Catfish Point Trail and investigate what plants and animals live in Lake Corpus Christi State Park. Be sure to wear good shoes and bring water!

Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History- Little Learners Hour: Transportation from 10 am – 11am
Planes, trains and automobiles! They help us get where we need to go, and use science to get us there. Explore the simple machines that make up our modes of transportation, and what makes them move! Don’t miss this great opportunity for you and your little one to learn and explore. Programming is geared toward children age 0 – 5.

They craft, you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Goose Island State Park Fishing Fish Prints! from 10 to 11 am
Try your hand at Gyotaku- the Japanese art of fish printing. Traditionally fish printing was an art form that could also be used to document an impressive catch. Helpful things to bring:  A journal, pen or pencil, and your desired media.  The park will provide tempra paint, paper, and replica fish for use in the program.  Wear old clothes that you don't mind getting paint on!
