As we get closer to Halloween all those fun activities keep piling up! Another weekend full of family friendly fun is on the horizon. Some of these activities may require registration. Always check with the organizations for the most updated information or if you have any questions. We try to give you the most accurate information and remember some free events may still require a purchase.  We appreciate the shares and likes. If we're missing something, let us know! Garcia Arts & Education Center Sugar Skull WorkShop from 5 to 8 pm
Our sugar skull workshops let you decorate sugar skulls in memory of a loved one as a part of a tradition for Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. Workshops are open to all ages. This year we are offering three skull sizes: Large, regular, and small: see this image for examples. Colors of the skulls vary, as we used different sugar colors to make the forms. You can choose from any colors that are available. We provide lots of fun decorating materials, such as icing, sequins, feathers, flowers, foil, and accessories.
Cost: For skulls: Small, for kids: free (up to two free children per adult skull purchase), Regular: $3 -Large: $6

Incarnate Word Academy Elementary Level’s Fall Fun Night: Dia de los Muertos Celebration from 5 to 8 pm
Dinner, moon jumps, bake sale, rock wall, face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, live entertainment and more!
Cost: Admission tickets are $8 each. Carne Guisada dinner plate tickets are $8 each. (Dinner will be served from 5:30-7:30 p.m.) A drive-through will be available in the IWA Chapel parking lot for those who only purchase a dinner ticket. You must have an admission ticket and a dinner ticket to eat dinner in the James R. Dougherty, Jr. Center. Tickets for admission and/or dinner may be purchased through a current Elementary Level family OR through the Elementary Level Office. (Please make checks payable to IWA PTO). St. Patrick School Annual Halloween Carnival from 5:30 to 10:30 pm
Eat, drink and be batty at the St. Patrick's Halloween Carnival! Calling all witches, goblins, and ghosts, St. Patrick's students and staff are your hosts! There will be food, games, rides, haunted house, raffle, silent auction and entertainment, including music by Clarissa Serna.

Haunting on the Blue Ghost from 7 to 10:30 pm
Strange things are creeping along Corpus Christi Bay. LEX will be haunted from and the ghosts will be waiting for you! The terrifying tour takes the bravest of souls down to the 2nd and 3rd decks of the WWII era aircraft carrier to spaces never before opened to the public. You should be ready to handle steep ladders, dark corridors, creaky hatchways and unimaginable sights, screams and sounds. This is an intense haunted experience – think twice before enlisting! Ages 6 and up, must be able to navigate ladders and confined spaces.

Goose Island State Park Night Sky Star Gazing at 7 pm
The moon will be a waning both evenings providing the opportunity for moon and star observation. The park will have a telescope available for viewing objects in the night sky, and binoculars for looking at stars or the moon. Participants are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to sit on, mosquito repellant, water, and anything else that may help their star gazing experience. We ask that participants limit the use of flashlights. An important part of star gazing is allowing your eyes to adjust to dark. There is some lighting in the area, so do not worry it will not be pitch black, so please leave the flashlights off or at the campsite.
Cost: Park entrance fees $5 per person 13 & up, children 12 & under are free. There is no fee for Texas State Park Pass holders.

Harbor Playhouse Presents Treasure Island at 7:30 pm
Based on the masterful adventure novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, Treasure Island is a stunning yarn of piracy on the tropical seas. At the center of it all are Jim Hawkins, a 14-year-old boy who longs for adventure, and the infamous Long John Silver, who is a complex study of good and evil, perhaps the most famous hero-villain of all time.

Texas State Aquarium Otterly October Day at 9 am
Guests will have the opportunity to carve a pumpkin and see their art used as enrichment for our otters in our Otter Creek exhibit during the 1:30 pm “You Otter Know This” presentation. Learn about these wonderful creatures and compete in our otter photo social media contest.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. The parking lot is now open. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. Rockin' K Maze Refinery, Oil and Gas Appreciation Weekend and Pumpkinfest from 10 am - 8 pm
Harvest moon weekend is perfect for celebrating the pumpkin! Come out for the annual “Photos in the Pumpkins” fun, pick your pumpkin in our pumpkin patch and try some pumpkin pie (while available!). Who knows you may even catch a scarecrow or two walking around for some fun photos ops! This weekend, we recognize employees of all local refineries, oil and gas industries — FREE with valid ID. (personnel only - paystub or proof of employment) We will honor the group rate discount of $8.00 plus tax for spouses and dependents of refinery and oil and gas industry employees.

City of Portland 10th Annual Boo Bash from 6 to 9 pm
Events will include a costume contest for children and pets, a pumpkin decorating contest, carnival games and inflatable slides. Contests are limited to the first 30 pre-registered in each age group.
