December is here and along with it all the holiday fun! This month every weekend is packed full of all kinds of things to do with your kids in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. Many events are free! Remember, some of these activities may require registration. Always check with the organizations for the most updated information or if you have any questions. All Weekend 

Harbor Playhouse Presents: A Christmas Carol at 7:30 pm (Sunday matinee at 2:30 pm)
This timeless classic is a spectacular musical, which tells the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge as he goes through a series of strange events after being warned by his former business partner Jacob Marley to change his ways. This brilliant musical follows Scrooge on Christmas Eve, as he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, which leads him to ultimately discover the true spirit of Christmas.

Aurora Arts Theatre presents The Marvelous Wonderettes at 7:30 pm (Sunday matinee at 2:30 pm)
This smash off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with classic ‘50s hits including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.” In act two, the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion. We learn about the highs and lows the girls have experienced in the past decade and are charmed to find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together. Featuring over 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits, The Marvelous Wonderettes will keep you smiling in this must-take musical trip down memory lane!

Art Museum of South Texas Christmas Tree Forest: A Reading Wonderland from 10 am to 5 pm (Sunday hours from 1 to 5 pm)
A showcase of Christmas trees at the Art Museum of South Texas decorated to mirror children’s books chosen by participating schools. Participating schools will decorate their trees to be displayed at the museum during regular business hours.

Friday, December 2

Art Museum of South Texas Free First Friday from 10 am - 5 pm
The first Friday of every month is free public admission to the Art Museum of South Texas. The Gift Shop and Hester's Cafe also are open to the public.

3rd Annual Town and Country Classic Christmas from 3-8 pm
Enjoy entertainment, refreshments, and specials at participating businesses. The atmosphere will be filled to the brim with holiday cheer! New this year is a food court made available to guests consisting of booths set up by participating restaurants. This is in addition to the restaurants in the centers dine in option. Also prize packs for the kiddos and special drawings for kids under 18 and broken up by age groups. Meet and greet with Olaf, Penguins of Madagascar and the Minions.

Blue, Blue Christmas Celebration Kick Off from 5 to 10 pm
Activities that night include; donation based pictures with Blue Santa, family crafts and fun, live music, food, shopping, and much more! From December 2nd thru Christmas Eve, we will be collecting donations for Corpus Christi Police Officers' Association Blue Santa. Blue Santa's goal is to join forces with the men in blue to give gifts to underprivileged children in the Corpus Christi area. Cost: Free admission Water Street Market

Marina Arts District Downtown Artwalk from 5:30 to 10 pm
On the first Friday of every month you’ll find artists, musicians and all things creative converge in the Marina Arts District. It's where Downtown comes alive with bands on every block, food trucks serving up South Texas fare, and art galleries featuring local and national artists. Take in the free live music and local flavors outside, find a nice watering hole to duck into for a quick drink, or grab a bite to eat. Make sure to stop by the The Historic Ritz Theatre to view the Altars of Remembrance display at 715 N Chaparral St.

Art Museum of South Texas Dollar After Dark from 5:30 - 9 pm
Visit the Museum after hours for a special reduced admissions rate of $1 during Artwalk!

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi 11th Annual Islander Lights at 6 pm
Come with the whole family and enjoy a snow party, games, refreshments. Bring an unwrapped toy for the Marin Corps’ Toys for Tots drive. At 8 pm, the switch will be thrown to illuminate the campus in Islander blue, green and white lights. To finish the evening, a movie “will be shown in the University Center Rotunda at 8:30 pm.

Garcia Arts and Education Center Family Night Out from 6–8 pm
Families - enjoy time together, share a meal, and learn about each another through different fun events! Programming is held every other Friday night Curriculum is delivered by TAMUCC graduate students.

Ingleside Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony from 6:30 - 9:00 pm
High Balloons with bounce houses and car train ride. Free hot chocolate and cookies. Pictures with Santa Claus and the park will be decorated with Christmas lights. Free face painting and crafts for the kids. Plus the Grinch and a few other Christmas characters walking around.

Aransas Pass Chamber and Visitor Center​ Saltwater Christmas Illuminated Parade at 6:30 pm
Annual illuminated Christmas parade. Stay after the parade at the Chamber of Commerce parking lot for activities at AP Chamber Parking Lot for pictures with Santa, bike giveaway, activity booths, Christmas caroling and cookie decorating.

Parade Starts at Intersection of De Berry and Commercial, proceed North on Commercial, then left onto Wheeler and then Left onto Houston Street and ends at AP Chamber Parking Lot.

All aboard! Come in your PJs and join us for a magical evening as we host our annual Polar Express Storytime. Coloring and activities to follow, including writing a Dear Santa letter!

The Department of Music at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi 16th Annual Holiday Gala Concert at 7:30 pm
The concert features students and faculty in a wide variety of holiday favorites for the whole family, from familiar Christmas carols to new arrangements. Pre-performance activities, including a holiday coloring station, craft station and special appearance by Mrs. And Mrs. Clause, Frosty, Snowman and Elves, start at 6:30 p.m. in the PAC lobby.
Cost: Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available in the PAC lobby one hour before show time.

Parents, teachers, and children! Come dressed in your favorite pajamas to enjoy the chilly wintery weather and snuggle-up for our storytelling session, and create winter arts and crafts! Parents are required to attend this event with children.
Cost: Admission per child $10 early registration, $12 at the door. Parents are free! Pre-register online.

Home Depot Gingerbread Man Candy Dish Kids Workshop from 9 am to 12 pm
Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can create a beautiful Gingerbread Candy Dish. Once the candy holder is built, your child can decorate it with stickers to give their gingerbread mana cheery holiday smile. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks! from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. The parking lot is now open. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. Michaels Kids Club Sprout Stockings from 10 am - 12 pm
They craft, you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. $2 per project, supplies included. Caroler's Afloat and Boat Lighting Parade at 5:30 pm CANCELLED

Marina Arts District BridgeWalk from 8:30 am - 11 am 
Registration starts at 7:15 am and Walk begins at 8:30 pm,  BridgeWalk is a monthly opportunity to get some exercise with a one of a kind view. The bridge route takes you up and over the beautiful Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge. The Alternate route for those with strollers, small children, and animals can take the scenic route down along the water to the Marina T Heads and back. Both routes are measured to be 6020 yards (3.42 miles).
