This month has just flown by! The last weekend in February has a little bit of everything. Remember, some of these activities may require registration. Always check with the organizations for the most updated information or if you have any questions. We appreciate the shares and likes. If we're missing something, let us know! A La Mano! (Food Truck Friday) from 11 am - 2 pm

Garcia Arts & Education Center Family Night Out from 6 to 8 pm
Family Night Out includes a variety of educational groups as well as entertaining and therapeutic activities. Groups and activities include: art, games and action exercises, stress management, psycho-education, and community education. The groups and activities focus on decreasing family conflict, increasing family cohesion, and promoting healthy family management. Emphasis is placed on healthy beliefs, family bonding, emotional awareness and expression, and communication skill building.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks! from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact 361-826-PLAY (7529)

Michaels Stores Kids Club Funny Birds from 10 am to 12 pm
They craft, you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Barefoot Mardi Gras Parade and Festival from 11 am – 5 pm
Parade is 11 AM (but get your spot and be in place by 10:30!) The festival will feature Cajun Music, food & fun for all ages!  Festival features live music, artists, car displays, exhibitors, a children’s area, food, drink and more! Visit the website for parade route and more information.
Admission: Parade is free, festival admission is $5 paid at the door. Cash Only.
Parade will begin at Whitecap Blvd and Windward and proceed East down Whitecap to the beach. Once on the beach the parade will turn South towards Bob Hall Pier. The parade will end by turning West into the circle at the Briscoe King Pavilion. E Festival is located at the Briscoe King Pavillion in Bali Park on Padre Island

They will host a special Storytime featuring coloring, activities and more in celebration of the beloved author's birthday on March 2nd.

South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center Learn to Grow a Salad in a Pot Workshop from 3 to 4 pm
Nueces Master Gardener Emeritus Helen Orsak leads a kids’ interactive workshop on nutrition, and how to grow their own salad garden in a five-gallon bucket, which each participant will get to take home and nurture.
Cost: Class fee $3 plus general admission. Members FREE! Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Art Museum of South Texas Visionarios 2017 Annual Youth Art Contest Family Day and Awards Presentation from 1-3 pm
Sponsored in part by Flint Hills Resources, this annual youth art and essay contest celebrates its 16th year with the theme: The Art in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Showcased in select galleries of the Museum, the entries represent talented 1st through 12th graders from the Coastal Bend region. Live entertainment and hands-on activities round out this exciting afternoon!
