Hooray it's another weekend! This one is packed with fun stuff to do. We're celebrating the Earth and Easter and everything in-between. Remember, some of these activities may require registration. Always check with the organizations for the most updated information or if you have any questions. We appreciate the shares and likes. If we're missing something, let us know! 44th Annual Windfest 
Friday from 6 to 11:30 pm
Saturday from 11 am to 11:30 pm
Sunday from 12 to 6 pm
Portland's popular annual family festival and fundraiser. Some new activities like a skateboard show, pigs racing and swimming, a Tug-of-War Challenge as well as some favorites like a Petting Zoo, Antique Tractor Show, Mechanical Bull Ride, Pony Rides, Famous Dachshund Dash, Dog Costume Parade, Arts/Crafts & Market Days, Food Booths, Parade and Carnival! You also have the chance to enter one of the many contests like Horseshoe/Washer Tournaments, Chili, Rib, Brisket, Bean, Chef’s Choice and Kid’s Pizza Cook-off.
Cost: General Admission $5, kids 6 and under free. $4 parking. Saturday after 5 p.m. is $10. Carnival wristbands - $20 (all day wristband Saturday).

Big Frank's Hunting and Fishing Expo
Friday from 4 to 8 pm
Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm
Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm
There's going to be a ton to do including a great kids area with an obstacle course and jumper, ArmyBassAnglers teaching fishing, Joe Martin's Snake Pit and more.
Cost: Admission for adults is $10 for a 3 day pass and kids under 12 get in free.

Art Museum of South Texas Free First Friday from 10 am - 5 pm
The first Friday of every month is free public admission to the Art Museum of South Texas. The Gift Shop and Hester's Cafe also are open to the public.

Marina Arts District Downtown Artwalk from 5:30 to 10 pm
On the first Friday of every month you’ll find artists, musicians and all things creative converge in the Marina Arts District. It's where Downtown comes alive with bands on every block, food trucks serving up South Texas fare, and art galleries featuring local and national artists. Take in the free live music and local flavors outside, find a nice watering hole to duck into for a quick drink, or grab a bite to eat.

Visit the Museum after hours for a special reduced admissions rate of $1 during Artwalk!

Garcia Arts and Education Center Family Night Out from 6 to 8 pm
Family Night Out includes a variety of educational groups as well as entertaining and therapeutic activities. Groups and activities include: art, games and action exercises, stress management, psycho-education, and community education. The groups and activities focus on decreasing family conflict, increasing family cohesion, and promoting healthy family management. Emphasis is placed on healthy beliefs, family bonding, emotional awareness and expression, and communication skill building.

Harbor Playhouse Presents Madagascar - A Musical Adventure at 7:30 pm Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto the stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks! from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. Early Scholars Academy Family Day Chalk Art Fest at 9 am to 12 pm
The Early Scholars Academy is bringing explosions of color and the community together for a chalk art fest. Artists of all ages are invited to use their imagination to create a variety of chalk art. Bring the whole family, friends and neighbors for some fun in the sun. Families will then explore Amazing Me room for more art crafts and self-expression activities.

Earth Day Bay Day from 10 am to 5 pm
The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation annual Earth Day-Bay Day event educates thousands of residents and visitors to the Coastal Bend on the importance of environmental stewardship and appreciation for our precious coastal natural resources- all while having a ton of fun! Dozens of local, regional and state organizations, businesses and government agencies will join CBBF to provide free education, entertainment and resources to the public to promote awareness and inspire conservation for our coastal wildlife and environments. There will also be several food trucks (Rainbow Snoball, Katy’s Snack Shack, Lonestar Hawaiian Ice) on hand to offer a variety of tasty treats.

Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History Family Fun Day - Water from 10 am - 5 pm 
Discover the amazing and unusual properties of water! Visit the museum on Family Fun Day to make a molecule, learn about erosion and density, and find out which of Saturn's moons is hiding an active water world beneath it's icy surface.

PBS Kids at the Alamo Drafthouse Corpus Christi: Wild Kratts at 10:45 am
This is an all-ages show with Alamo for All rules - noisy young fans won't be asked to leave the theater but we do ask that cellphones and other devices stay dark. This month PBS KIDS at the Alamo Drafthouse features brand new WILD KRATTS episodes, including a special premiere of Deep Sea Adventure. The Kratt Brothers will introduce us to new and beloved animals as they embark on their newest adventures in the animal kingdom. Young explorers and animal lovers will have a blast seeing their favorite characters on the big screen while parents enjoy the great food and beverages the Alamo Drafthouse is known for.

Art Museum of South Texas Young Artist Workshop: Up Close with Chuck Close from 1 to 3 pm
nspired by artist Chuck Close and his photorealistic, large-scale portraits, learn to use grid technique to create a self-portrait. Please submit a photo of each participant by noon on April 7th or participants may choose to base the project on a popular character portrait provided by AMST.

Gulf Coast Humane Society Easter Egg Hunt from 1 to 3 pm
There will be two hunt times: 1-1:50 PM and 2:10-3 PM. The hunt will take place at our dog park and will be sectioned off into two different age groups so that all children have a fair chance!
Cost: $3 per child or $5 for two children. All proceeds benefit the animals of GCHS!
