Happy Mother's Day to all our awesome moms! Many of you are going to be spending mother's day with your special lady and there are plenty of fun actitivites to do with her. Remember, some of these activities may require registration. Always check with the organizations for the most updated information or if you have any questions. We appreciate the shares and likes. South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center Mothers’ Day Free Weekend from 9 am to 6 pm
Free admission for moms, enjoy Wildlife In Focus photography exhibition on the Brennecke Nature Trail; and Parrot Talk visitor interactive presentations at 1:30 pm in the Tropical Garden! The festive free weekend for moms is in conjunction with National Public Gardens Day, May 12, sponsored by the American Public Gardens Association (APGA).
Cost: Show the coupon or any mother can say “Moms love Flowers” at the Visitors Center front desk Friday, Saturday or Sunday! Only moms get free admission that weekend—unless others in the party are members. Corpus Christi Family Martial Arts Academy Poke Party from 7-10 pm
Games, Pinata, Snacks and Pokemon Movie! Kids are encouraged to dress up as their favortie Pokemon charactor. Kids May wish to bring a pillow, blanket, or sleeping bag to use during the movie!

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks! from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. University of Texas Marine Science Institute Education Program from 10 to 11 am
Floating Habitat: A Balancing Act Habitat balance is essential to our bays and estuaries that lead into the ocean. Sargassum seaweed is just one important nursery habitats for young fishes, crabs, shrimp and other invertebrates, as well as endangered sea turtles. Join UTMSI scientists as they share their research about these floating nurseries and what impact the Deepwater Horizon Oil spill had on them. This unique hands-on experience will make you love science too.

Art Museum of South Texas Super sARTurday from 12:30 - 4:30 pm
Cartooning (ages 6-10): After viewing "BAM! It’s a Picture Book: The Art Behind Graphic Novels" currently on view in the Museum, we’ll draw our very own cartoon characters, creatures, animals and magical beasts. We’ll use pencil, pen, ink and paint to design funny faces, outrageous bodies and a unique story to go along with your characters. Cartooning and Illustration (ages 11-15): After viewing "BAM! It’s a Picture Book: The Art Behind Graphic Novels" currently on view, we’ll learn to develop our narrative and graphic abilities through the use of dip pens, brush and ink and acrylic paint. Projects may include a comic strip, an animation flip book and/or a graphic novel page for a favorite book.
