Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walk from 8 to 9 am
Get in touch with nature while the weather is still nice. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the front porch of the Learning Center. University of Texas Marine Science Institute Birding 101 from 9 to 11 am
These introductory classes are designed to teach students the fundamentals of bird identification and at the same time give them a greater understanding of their local environment. Students are asked to bring their own binoculars if possible, but we have several to loan out on a first-come basis. Please dress for the weather and wear sunscreen, hat etc. Don’t forget to bring binoculars. Parents are welcome to stay, or drop off their kids. Pick up and drop off are in the same location.These classes are for children 7-16 years of age.

Join Oso Preserve staff members as they read nature themed children’s books, explore artifacts, and meet the animal ambassadors. Learn more about native wildlife, habitats, adaptations and other topics through relevant children’s stories. This program is FREE of charge and intended for children ages 2-6. Each story will be supplemented with a walk, artifact, animal ambassador or other interactive. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult.
