Summer is in full swing with all kinds of going on all over the Corpus Christi area! It's been scorching hot outside but don't let that discourage you from doing some of your favorite activities. Just make sure to stay cool! Remember, some of these activities may require registration. Always check with the organizations for the most updated information or if you have any questions. Harbor Playhouse Presents Disney's Beauty and the Beast

Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, an international sensation that has played to over 35 million people worldwide in 13 countries. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Corpus Christi Hooks vs Rough Riders at 7:05 pm
Gates open 5:35 pm. It's '50s Night, so dress the part! Also, the first 1,000 fans take home a '50s poster from Radiology Associates. Visit the Mystery Ball in a bag sales table, benefiting Puppy Rescue Mission. You can purchase for $20 and find an official MLB or MiLB baseball signed by a past or present Hooks player, an Astros player, a Hall of Fame player (Craig Biggio or Jeff Bagwell), or an MLB star! All proceeds go to the Puppy Rescue Mission, a non-profit organization making it possible for U.S. military men and women to bring home stray dogs and cats they bond with, care for, and want to adopt when deployed to war zones and other impoverished countries. •Friday Fireworks postgame, presented by Bud Light.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is open to individuals and families. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Wetlands Workshop at 10:30 am 
Join us in a 6 month series to help students learn about marine science in the Coastal Bend. In our first workshop the Center for Sportfish Science and Conservation from the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies will share interactive activities and fun information about their work with sharks and sportfish. Program is targeted for students ages 12-18.

Corpus Christi Hooks vs Rough Riders and Puppy Rescue Mission at 7:05 pm
Gates open 5:35 pm. The first 1,750 fans receive a Hooks Jersey in King High School colors (forest green & white) from CITGO. King High School's 1967 Class 4A state championship baseball team will be honored in pregame ceremonies. Jorden Klaevemann is the contact for King High School Night and her number is 361-561-4697. The King drumline performs in the plaza pregame.

First United Methodist Church Red, White, and Blue Revue at 5 pm
Annual salute to American music and those in active or retired military service. Patriotic music, root beer floats, and a “roasting” farewell for Pastor Greg. Pre-activities begin at 5 PM, concert at 7. Food from The Mix Grill, Hester’s Cafe, and Lone Star Hawaiin Ice will be available for purchase before the concert.
