Aurora Arts Theater Presents Fiddler on the Roof at 7:30 pm (and 2:30 pm on Sunday)
Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.

Art Museum of South Texas Dollar After Dark before CC Ride-In Theater from 5:30 - 9 pm
Come for the art; stay for the movie! AMST will be open late with a reduced admission.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Birding by Sound - 2 part workshop from 6 to 7 pm
Friday night’s session will be educational, in our classroom and we’ll talk about tips and techniques for picking out specific bird calls using recorded local examples. 2nd session continues Saturday morning. Workshop is open to individuals and families with children 12 years old and up. Limit 20 participants. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult. Corpus Christi Ride-In Theater Free Outdoor Movie: Big Trouble in Little China from 8 to 11 pm
Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to enjoy Big Trouble in Little China on the lawn in the Corpus Christi Watergardens! Movie begins at 9 pm, but get there early to enjoy food from Munchies Bus, LaLa's Crepes LLC, and Fulton Kettle Corn. The movie is rated PG-13. Parental discretion is advised.

Saturday, August 12

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Birding by Sound - 2 part workshop from 7:30-8:30 am
Saturday morning the following day participants will meet again to practice out in the field. Participants should wear good walking shoes, plenty of water, and possibly a small camp chair to carry, and dress for the weather. Binoculars and field guides will be provided during the program. Early Scholars Academy Family Explorer Days Destination Exploration at 9:00 am
Parents, bring your children for an educational experience like no other! Come visit our state of the art facility for interactive learning in one of our 3 thematic pods. Destination Exploration consists of the Space, Earth, and Community discovery centers. Self-guided lessons will lead you and your child as you discover and learn together. For ages 3.5 to 8. Note: Parents are required to attend this event with children.

Meet on the Learning Center porch. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. Join them in the classroom for free rock painting. Bring a rock and they'll provide all the supplies! Age 3 and up welcome.

6th Annual Operation Safe Return from 10 am - 2 pm
This annual back to school event is hosted by Corpus Christi Police Department. Operation Safe Return gives every child the opportunity to receive school supplies, obtain valuable safety information and ensure a healthy start to the upcoming school year. Free Basic School Supplies, Sports Physicals, Immunizations, Giveaways. School-aged children must be accompanied by an adult and child must be present to receive school supplies. While quantities last, on all giveaways or services.

Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History Family Fun Day from 10 am – 5 pm
Hometown History is our area of expertise here at CC Museum. Through crafts and activities your family can learn all about how our town has grown from a small trading post to a center for tourism and industry.

Coastal Bend Texas Nature Challenge Opening Ceremonies from 10 am - 12 pm
Join us outside the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History for our kickoff ceremonies for this year's challenge. Register on-site, learn about participating sites, meet other teams, and feel inspired to begin exploring.
Cost: Admission to the event is free, if you would like to visit the museum during your visit normal admission will apply.

Alamo Drafthouse Corpus Christi PBS Kids at the Alamo: Ready Jet Go at 10:30 am
Reserve your seat with a donation with all ticket sales benefiting education programs at your local PBS station. This is an all-ages show with Alamo for All rules - noisy young fans won't be asked to leave the theater but we do ask that cellphones and other devices stay dark.

Barnes and Noble Goodnight Lab: A Scientific Parody Storytime at 11 am
