Another weekend jam-packed with fun events and activities for the whole family! Remember, some of these activities may require registration. 19th Annual Celebration of Flight Festival
Friday, September 22 11 am-2:30 pm

Sunday, September 24 11 am-1 pm
Family-friendly event with free activities in the park. Vendor tents and volunteers will be on hand to show and identify hawks for visitors. Watch the migrating hawks from the observation tower, learn about flight and do lots of activities, plus see some really cool bird shows! Coastal Bend Children in Nature will be leading a series of family friendly speakers, nature walks, and booths to complement the festival hosted by HawkWatch International.

Garcia Arts and Education Center Family Night Out from 6-8 pm
Families - enjoy time together, share a meal, and learn about each another through different fun events! Curriculum is delivered by TAMUCC graduate students. Family Night Out includes a variety of educational groups as well as entertaining and therapeutic activities. Groups and activities include: art, games and action exercises, stress management, psycho-education, and community education. The groups and activities focus on decreasing family conflict, increasing family cohesion, and promoting healthy family management. Emphasis is placed on healthy beliefs, family bonding, emotional awareness and expression, and communication skill building.

Saturday, September 23 KEDT Kids Festival from 9 am to 1:30 pm

A special event that features community resources for families with young children to grow healthy together. Local organizations will offer fun, educational activities and interactive presentations for the whole family to enjoy. Meet and take pictures Daniel Tiger. Texas State Aquarium Touch Pool. Storytime with Mr. Kippy, Dance Party with DJ Infinity and more.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact 361-826-PLAY (7529)

Art Center of Corpus Christi Arts Alive Festival from 10 am - 5 pm
An Art festival by the shoreline with an huge Family Art Time. Tons of fun projects for your kids including squeegee art, shell painting, boho flower crowns, printmaking and more! Featured guests the are the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, Louis Edwin Escamilla of Lowbrow Leather x Tandy Leather and the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures and Education Center!
Cost: Admission is Adults $5 and Children $1.

National Alpaca Farm Days at Shear Bliss Alpacas
 from 10 am to 4 pm 

Owners Mike and Laura kindly open their farm to the community twice a year so you can learn about the alpacas and you also get the chance to buy some alpaca products (the dryer balls are awesome)!

Michaels Kids Club Craft Stick Characters from 10 am to 12 pm
They craft, you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Studio Ghibli Fest Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind at 12:55 pm
From Academy Award®-winning director Hayao Miyazaki, "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" is considered by many to be his masterwork — and there are few films, animated or otherwise, of such sweeping scope and grandeur. Set in a devastated future world decimated by atmospheric poisons and swarming with gigantic insects, Nausicaä is a young princess, both brave and innocent, whose love for all living things and passionate determination to understand the processes of nature lead her into terrible danger, sacrifice, and eventual triumph. Film is dubbed in English and will also feature GKIDS Mini-Fest, an ongoing festival of the best animated shorts from around the world.
