It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! December is here and that means weekends are jam packed with fun activities for the whole family! Remember, some of these activities may require registration. Always check with the organizations for the most updated event information or if you have any questions. Art Museum of South Texas Christmas Tree Forest: A Reading Wonderland
Friday and Saturday 10 am-5 pm and Sunday 1-5 pm
Once again reflecting the theme of A Reading Wonderland, 30 school groups read their chosen award-winning childhood classic book, created related decorations, and trimmed their trees accordingly. As an added bonus, AMST visitors may cast their votes for their top three favorite trees.

Aurora Arts Theatre Presents A Christmas Story The Musical
Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday 2:30 matinee
This musical, which received rave reviews on its Broadway run, is based on the movie classic that runs round-the-clock on television every Christmas. Set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the musical follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts—an Official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. Rebuffed at every turn with a similar echoing response, Ralphie plots numerous schemes to achieve his desperate desire for the coveted BB gun.

Harbor Playhouse Presents: A Christmas Carol
Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday 2:30 matinee
This timeless classic is a spectacular musical, which tells the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge as he goes through a series of strange events after being warned by his former business partner Jacob Marley to change his ways. This brilliant musical follows Scrooge on Christmas Eve, as he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, which leads him to ultimately discover the true spirit of Christmas.

Corpus Christi Concert Ballet Nutcracker in the Park at 6, 7 and 8 pm
A dazzling performance showcasing an immersive dance experience of the classic holiday production of The Nutcracker! Garcia Arts and Education Center Family Night Out from 6-8 pm
Families - enjoy time together, share a meal, and learn about each another through different fun events! Curriculum is delivered by TAMUCC graduate students. Family Night Out includes a variety of educational groups as well as entertaining and therapeutic activities. Groups and activities include: art, games and action exercises, stress management, psycho-education, and community education. The groups and activities focus on decreasing family conflict, increasing family cohesion, and promoting healthy family management. Emphasis is placed on healthy beliefs, family bonding, emotional awareness and expression, and communication skill building.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi 12th Annual Islander Lights at 6 pm
Come with the whole family and enjoy a snow party, games, refreshments at 6 pm. At 7:45 pm, the switch will be thrown to illuminate the campus in Islander blue, green and white lights. To finish the evening, the movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas" will be shown in the University Center Rotunda at 8:30 pm.

Annual illuminated Christmas parade. Stay after the parade at the Chamber of Commerce parking lot for activities at AP Chamber Parking Lot for pictures with Santa, bike giveaway, activity booths, Christmas caroling and cookie decorating.

The Department of Music at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi 17th Annual Holiday Gala Concert at 7:30 pm
The concert features students and faculty in a wide variety of holiday favorites for the whole family, from familiar Christmas carols to new arrangements. Pre-performance activities, including a holiday coloring station, craft station and special appearance by Mrs. And Mrs. Clause, Frosty, Snowman and Elves, start at 6:30 p.m. in the PAC lobby.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church Breakfast with Santa from 9 - 11:30 am
Begin the morning visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Claus as their photographer snaps a keepsake photograph. Then sit down with your family and friends to enjoy a delicious breakfast of fresh, hot pancakes and sausage. Afterwards you can participate in games, crafts and a beautiful Christmas story shared by Santa Claus himself!

Home Depot Christmas Gingerbread House Kids Workshop from 9 am to 12 pm
A hands-on workshop where parents and kids put together a wooden gingerbread house that will last year after year. No frosting required! Once the gingerbread house is built, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron, and pin.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is FREE of charge and open to individuals and families. City of Rockport Tropical Christmas from 10 am-7 pm
Day-long, pirate-themed extravaganza kicking off the holiday season with fun, festivities, fireworks and more in Historical Rockport. Among the featured events are an illuminated night parade, children’s programs, decorating contests, pet costume contest, arts and crafts festival, food and entertainment, and, of course, a visit with “Tropical Santa." Topping off the annual event will be a spectacular fireworks display.

Marina Arts District BridgeWalk from 8:30 am - 11 am 
Registration starts at 7:15 am and Walk begins at 8:30 pm,  BridgeWalk is a monthly opportunity to get some exercise with a one of a kind view. The bridge route takes you up and over the beautiful Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge. The Alternate route for those with strollers, small children, and animals can take the scenic route down along the water to the Marina T Heads and back. Both routes are measured to be 6020 yards (3.42 miles).

Chuck E. Cheese's Sensory Sensitive Sundays at 8 am
Sensory-friendly experience on the first Sunday of every month. Our trained and caring staff is there to make sure each guest has a fun filled visit. Texas State Aquarium Dollar Day from 10 am – 5 pm 
Presented by Whataburger for all visitors to access to the Aquarium, including the new exhibits and experiences in Caribbean Journey. In addition to this special admission price, Whataburger will provide free promotional items to Dollar Day attendees for a portion of the day. The Whataburger 4-Dimension Theater is the only 4D Theater is South Texas. This special entertainment experience brings the audience into the action of the movie with 3D visuals in combination with snow, wind, water, jolts, pokes, and other immersive effects. On Dollar Day, the Whataburger 4-Dimension Theater will feature “Ice Age: No Time for Nuts 4-D.”

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi “Michael Martin Murphey’s Cowboy Christmas Concert” at 7:30 pm
Michael Martin Murphey is not only the number one, best-selling singer/songwriter of American Cowboy Music, he's one of the world's most respected singer/songwriters in the Pop and Country-Western field. In May, 1975 Murphey’s story song, "Wildfire," reached No. 1 on the Radio and Records charts, No.3 on Billboard's Pop Chart, and No. 1 on all Adult Contemporary Charts, giving the artist vast commercial exposure. Michael broke ground with an innovative concert concept called "Cowboy Christmas" in 1987 which has become a trademarked touring show and musical concept for him.
