Padre Island National Seashore Turtle Hatchling Release at 6:45 am 
A turtle hatchling release is expected. Dates are always tentative but you can call the Hatchling Hotline the morning of to make sure it at 361-949-7163 for the latest information about the release

Art Museum of South Texas Frost Free Friday from 10 am - 5 pm
The first Friday of every month is free public admission to the Art Museum of South Texas. The Gift Shop and Hester's Cafe also are open to the public.

Petey's Back to School Bash from 4 to 7:30 pm 
Hosted by Project Turnaround, with the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation (CBWF) this event will feature games and activities for youth and families, live performances on stage, raffle prizes, giveaways, and 300 FREE backpacks filled with school supplies for the first 300 youth in kinder through 8th grade. Children must be present. Free games, door prizes and music!

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is open to individuals and families. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact 361-826-PLAY (7529)

Home Depot Kids Workshop Bookworm Bookends from 9 am to 12 pm
Celebrate your child’s devotion to reading in our book lover’s hands-on workshop. Together you and your child can build a set of bookworm bookends to add personality, organization and excitement to bookshelves in any playroom, family room or bedroom. Once your bookends construction is complete, you and your child can decorate it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a free certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

Art Center of Corpus Christi Family Art Time from 10 am to 2 pm
Free fun art time for families every Saturday! Families of all ages are welcome. CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT, drop-in art activity, no registration. While supplies last.

15th Annual Kid Katch Youth Fishing Tournament at 9 am 
Children 17 and under are invited to participate in three different age categories. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age group for Biggest Fish. Free lunch is provided and t-shirts will be given to the first 200 registered. The event is strictly measure and release. Parents may accompany children. Come out andoin the fun! Fishing ends at 11 am. Bait will be provided but bring your own fishing pole.
Cost: Free. There will be a School Supply Drive! Be sure to bring new school supplies with you to donate at the event. All supplies will be donated to Gregory-Portland ISD to help children who cannot afford school supplies. Register in person at 8 am or online. Call 361-777-4670 for more information.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Wetlands Workshop Resin Casting from 10 am to 12 pm
Learn to set natural artifacts in hard plastic resin to display or protect them. Everything provided to learn to cast natural artifacts in clear resin for preservation and display.

Michaels Kids Club Kawaii Backpack Tags from 10 am to 12 pm
They craft, you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Alamo Drafthouse Corpus Christi PBS Kids at the Alamo: Back to School with Daniel Tigers Neighborhood at 10:30 am
Reserve your seat with a donation with all ticket sales benefiting education programs at your local PBS station. This is an all-ages show with Alamo for All rules - noisy young fans won't be asked to leave the theater but we do ask that cell phones and other devices stay dark.

6th Annual South Texas Summer Polkafest from 11 am to 6 pm
Czech polka and waltzes with Corpus Christi's own Majek's Polka Band and the Czechaholics from the El Campo / East Bernard area of Texas. Serving sausage and sauerkraut plates, chopped beef BBQ sandwiches and more.

Sunday, August 5

Marina Arts District BridgeWalk from 8:30 am to 10:30 am  
Registration starts at 8:00 am and walk begins at 8:30am. BridgeWalk is a monthly opportunity to get some exercise with a one-of-a-kind view. The bridge route takes you up and over the beautiful Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge. There is an Alternate route for those with strollers, small children, and animals – this scenic route goes down along the water to the Marina T Heads and back. Both routes are approximately 6,020 yards (3.42 miles). Updated regarding weather or other interference can always be found on website and social media pages.

ATB Car Club Festival Corpus Christi from 9 am - 3 pm

It's the biggest Car Club gathering in the United States and this year it's coming to Corpus.
Car's, trucks, bikes, and Tailgating for everyone. Bring the kids and pets, bbq pits and Ice chests for a day full of family fun! (no glass please)
All car clubs, truck clubs, bike clubs, Imports/domestics are invited! Join in on games like Push drag races, where your team pushes a car across the finish line
