Saturday, September 22

Active Heroes Presents Annual Corpus Christi Stand at Attention from 8 am to 9 pm
A member of the Navy, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marines will be competing to see who can stand at attention the longest! Participants will start at 8 am and go until the last one is standing or 9 pm, whichever comes first.
Cost: Free. Each branch will be accepting donations which will go toward helping military families in need.

Tuloso-Midway Booster Club Cheer Clinic from 9 am to 3:30 pm
Don’t miss the fun. Registration includes: Clinic Shirt, bow, poms, Award, Picture, Snack and Water. ALL participants will also have lunch with the TM cheerleaders.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Guided Nature Walks from 9 to 10 am
Meet on the Learning Center porch. Please bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, and dress for the weather. This program is open to individuals and families. Binoculars and field guides will be loaned on a first come first served basis. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact 361-826-PLAY (7529)

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and Learning Center Family Science Explorations Dissections from 10 am to 12 pm
Explore science topics as a family! This 2-hour program provides a science exploration experience for the family to attend together. In this family science exploration event, we'll dissect a variety of preserved animals. We'll learn proper dissection techniques and explore some fascinating creatures. The exact specimens will be determined later but could include fish, shark, seastar, etc. This program is open to ages 5 and up. All children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost: Program fee is $5 per person. Online registration is required. Each program is limited to 25 participants.

Children's Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend Pinwheels Family Fun Day from 9 am to 12 pm Community event for children and families to feature youth performances, information, games/activities, free food and snacks, while quantities last. This year's pinwheel display will include 1,410 pinwheels, each representing a child interviewed due to allegations of physical and sexual abuse in 2017.

Michaels Kids Club Klutz Klay Crafts from 10 am to 12 pm
They craft, you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Join us for another great event hosted by the Harte Research Institute and Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve. This series allows participants to interact with and learn directly from researchers at Harte. This month’s program is all about Sharks! Presenter: Kelsey Martin, PhD student at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, Harte Research Institute Do you know what it takes to be a shark? Come find out as Harte Research Institute’s graduate students teach you about the different sharks in the area and how to identify them in a fun activity that will leave you breathless!
